TULUM FASHION
Tulum fashion is really not complicated. Anything that espouses casual elegance, comfort and a little bit of style is actually a great representation of fashion from this side of Mexico.
Visitors are not compelled to look sophisticated because people will not really mind what one is wearing. Since Tulum is situated along the coastline facing the Caribbean Sea, the weather here is warm but breezy. Thus, it is not appropriate for tourists to wear really thick wool jackets or fleece. Moreover, tourists should not really worry too much on what clothes, shoes, and accessories to bring to Tulum because there are many stores and fashion boutiques in the area.
Tulum fashion is not really that much different from what is in vogue in other popular beach locations in Mexico. Tourists can wear t-shirts, shorts, bathing suits, and other clothes made of light fabric so long as they can tolerate the heat of the sun. Flip-flops and sandals are also the typical footwear in the area. However, you can also run barefoot on the sand if you like and no one will apprehend you. Even inside restaurants, bars and clubs, the fashion statement is casual and comfortable.
Anything goes when it comes to fashion in a beach setting. The best way to enhance your Tulum fashion is by using accessories, handmade Mayan-style jewelries and, for women, probably some makeup. Just make sure that if you use makeup, it should be waterproof so it won't easily wash off when you get into the water. Appropriate accessories on the beach include wide brimmed hats, caps, sun visors, sunglasses and scarves made of light and thin fabric. However, if you go mountain climbing or join tours of the Mayan ruins, you might want to bring comfortable shoes or pants made of light material.
The whole point of having a vacation is to relax and enjoy, so there is no use in getting all stressed about your Tulum fashion. You really do not need to bring tons of clothes because you can buy appropriate clothing in this part of Mexico. In fact, you may want to try the guayaberas, which is part of the traditional fashion of Tulum. There are also many artisan stores that sell accessories made of corals, amber, jade, and shell. You do not have to worry about spending a lot of money in Tulum because most, if not all of the stalls and stores in the beach and downtown areas sell reasonably priced clothing and other souvenir items.
